Ready for a new song..meet Neverwinters New class the Bard !!

So we have waited for years and years it seems and now the wait is over...the new word is that coming by the later part of the year Neverwinter will finally have a new class...if  you like music and song this new character sounds like it be just fit you...Meet the Bard!

For players that choose the Bard class, they will become a stylish fighter who uses the power of song to enhance their allies and defeat their enemies. Weaving their way through their enemies with a variety of flashy attacks, Bards can seamlessly burst into songs burning their enemies with a blazing performance. Also, when in a more supportive role, Bards can dance around the battlefield filling the ears of their allies with rejuvenating carols and defensive minuets while preparing for the final curtain call.

Neverwinter players who choose the Bard class can become daring heroes who possess the ability to weave magic into their swords and use music to inspire allies, manipulate minds and even heal wounds. Bards dress to impress, carry an instrument — like a trusty lute — for performances and never leave the tavern without a rapier or cutlass at their hip. With the ability to be Songblades and Minstrels (the two Paragon Paths for the class) no two Bards will be exactly alike, as the class will offer one of the largest selection of spells and playstyles Neverwinter has to offer.

Songblades: Stylish swashbucklers who are as charming as they are deadly, that can dispatch their foes in style with swordplay, magic and music. This path is for those who want to be damage dealers who are comfortable close and mid range, and who want to make use of dramatic spells and supporting songs to enhance their natural combat ability.

Minstrels: Master musicians who prefer to use the power of their instrument to support their allies from afar with songs of bardic inspiration. These healers can also use music to unleash psychic attack spells and illusions.

Regardless of the Paragon Path adventurers choose, every Bard has an arsenal of unique abilities that will make them a versatile and powerful party member!!!!

Level Cap coming to 20?

Us long time players of Neverwinter is bound to be in a shock when we hear that our now level cap is 20...we've been thru 60, 70, and 80....and now back to 20!! Let's take a look into how we got there and what the devs of Neverwinter are thinking to accomplish....

GOALS

Streamline Leveling – Get players to our newest and best content faster. Balance the progression and rewards. Make each level achieved feel rewarding.

Teach the Game – Reimagine how the game is taught. Build a linear flow that ensures players are shown important systems.

Improve Performance and Visuals – Update old assets and fix underlying technical issues.

While players needn’t do anything to prep for the changeover, it does sound like some of the old leveling adventure zones have been temporarily retired, presumably until they can be retooled for the new leveling curve. Hopefully in upcoming news we can learn more about the renovations to our old favs^_^

The zones we vaulted are:

  • Blacklake District
  • Tower District
  • Blackdagger Ruins
  • Helm's Hold
  • Pirate's Skyhold
  • Rothe Valley
  • Mount Hotenow

Along with the new leveling system Cryptic is introducing some new places for players. One of those is The Adventurer’s Guild
A place for all the greatest adventurers to meet, train, and claim their hard-earned rewards. This building is a new addition to Protector’s Enclave and will serve as a hub for leveling adventurer’s in their efforts to help the Sword Coast. The old Trade of Blades has been remodeled to serve more than just PvP. Many useful vendors have moved in to provide a variety of services, and Sergeant Knox guides all new adventurers from within the main hall. There are side rooms fitted for the needs of all kinds of adventurers. Clerics will find respite in the chapel, Wizards can peruse the mystical arts in the library, and Fighters can share stories around a roasting boar in trophy room. If you have an interest in tales from the past, the Acolytes of History have set up in the archives on the second floor, who offer lore from Neverwinter’s past. Keep an eye out for acolytes out in the field to hear more tales and perhaps help achieve things thought lost…

The Training Room

A special demiplane for adventurers to safely practice techniques and test their mettle. Players practice combat basics like Combat Advantage and Tab Mechanics here. After joining the Adventurer’s Guild, players will be able to access the Training Room with its testing functionality enabled. This will provide our dedicated build-makers and testers with a place to explore the combat systems with convenient features like no cooldowns or infinite Action Points.

Along with these new changes you will notice that system updates have been done to better explain how the game actually works. One of the major changes is they have new visuals for important Main missions. They have an updated overhead icon as well as new treatments in the journal and quest tracker and also built new visuals for Event missions to distinguish this special limited time content from regular questing.

Existing Characters

Because of the major changes to the leveling flow and level cap, existing characters are going to be set to level 20 and offered a free gear pack to get them in the right place to start on epic content. The leveling Adventures will still be available to play and we encourage everyone to play through the new tutorial missions and claim the Adventure rewards. Any characters who were last in vaulted zones will be warped to Protector’s Enclave and Sergeant Knox will offer a quest to meet with the Reward Claim Agent for the gear pack. While in the midst of doing all these things they are also going to build exchanges for old currencies that will no longer be used..so watch for those that you don't miss out!! Hopefully they will allow a great deal of allotted time to all the players, in case they don't keep a eye out for deadlines.

Preview

The best way to understand these changes is to jump onto the Preview server and try them out. I've posted a video below explaining exactly how you can do that..who knows what all these new changes will bring to Neverwinter, there are lots of opinions and questions but the game is in overhaul drive at the moment and us long time players will I know stick around to see the results, happy huntings!

Sharandar – Episode 3: The Odious Court

The Neverwinter Sharandar expansion, titled The Odious Court. Episode 3 will launch in early June on PC and will feature the epic conclusion of the Sharandar storyline, which includes a challenging battle against all three Hags as well as new heroic encounters, new bounties, new rewards, and more.
“In Episode 3: The Odious Court, adventurers travel to Dark Fey Mire to investigate the fetid swamp tainted by the mysterious dark magic of Magra Curse-Eye, the deceitful Green Hag, and her sisters from the Odious Court. With frog-like humanoids called Grungs claiming the area as their own, along with aggressive Dryads who have taken refuge within, adventurers need to restore safety to the region – all the while uncovering the role of the Odious Court. In addition to new story content, the last episode also brings exciting new features to Sharandar, including an epic battle against all three of the menacing hags, new bounties, new heroic encounters, new rewards and much more.”

This new expansion of the current New Sharandar Expansion Fury of the Feywild will be the last and complete the new series, although this won't be the last of surprises that Cryptic has for its players and the new class Bard enters the scene!

So to start this new area you will find a new NPC that's going to take you thru lots of quest fighting different enemies, there is also bountys at the Bounty Board so I'm posting a map showing where those are:

Bounty Hunt Map for the Episode 3 Zone: The Dark Fey Mire
I'll also include this in our map section for later reference.

Key Features:

The Dark Fey Mire: Explore the new Dark Fey Mire area of the Sharandar Adventure Zone. Making up the original regions of the Putrid Fen, Horrid Mire and the Upper/Lower Banks, the Dark Fey Mire is a fetid swamp still tainted by the twisted magics of Magra Curse-Eye and her sisters.

Green Hag Lair: In a last ditch effort, hags aligned with Magra Curse-Eye, the deceitful Green Hag, created a massive earthquake in the region of the Horrid Mire in an attempt to rend the region asunder and bury anyone aligned with the Iliyanbruen! To successfully save New Sharandar, will you enter the dreadful lair to defeat the Green Hag and her sisters --and uncover the mystery of the Odious Court?

New Bounties: As the threat of the hags grows, more of their foul champions are brought forth. The Iliyanbruen elves of New Sharandar reward those adventurers brave enough to defeat these threats and claim the bounties.

New Heroic Encounters: The new Dark Fey Mire area has new, challenging Heroic Encounters (including additional Major and Minor HeroicEncounters).

I for one have definitely enjoyed the new sharandar as I look forward to seeing other places in Neverwinter revamped..but thats a topic for a upcoming blog, happys hunting xd
